Diabetes Incidence on the Rise

Diabetes is increasingly becoming one of the diseases that plague the general public.  This is due to today’s poor diet and sedentary lifestyle of many Americans who mostly live on doughnuts and take out burgers rich in sugar and calories.  Also, the upsize portions of many foods in the market today make many individuals overweight or obese.  Combined with lack of exercise, the system of the body becomes overworked resulting in insulin resistance.  This means that the body can no longer process the increase blood sugar in the body leading to type II diabetes.

When people eat the blood sugar increases to be later used as fuel or energy.  However, most individuals today eats too much food which increases blood sugar significantly that what is normally needed by the body to function.  This increase in blood sugar deposits fat in the belly and make a person more prone to other diseases as a result of diabetes. Incidences of this type of diabetes developing in people around the well developed countries are on the rise and medical professionals are getting concerned on the long term impact.

Most doctors advices their patients to eat the right amount of foods every time they eat.  This is important in order to avoid the sudden increase of blood sugar in the body, burdening the pancreas that could damage them overtime if not corrected early on.  It is good to have a varied combination of food to satisfy cravings and avoid over eating.
